I started my last email with "This is sorta on the subject"...
As to the "improper lubrication" for the lobes - have you seen the Peter
Edney XPAG rebuild video? Peter modifies all the tappets he uses by
grinding an oil way down the side of the tappet from each oil hole to
the face to ensure more oil passes to the lobes. It's my understanding
that this passage is about a 1/16" wide and .030 deep. Finne mentioned
similar modifications that can be done - but this looks easier.
As to your question "Is it really a problem?" - I guess it is to some
people.
