Probably not US built, but many European.  Other Nuffield products used
the same rear axle such as the Riley or Wolseley.

Yes, it mainly has to do with a wear index.  When UK dropped the
ridiculous HP tax, those long stroke engines also were dropped.

60-70 MPH.  70 MPH is 4,500 RPM
