Hi Vinnie,
It is very possible that the contacts inside the switch are dirty with
carbon deposits or other gook. It has been my experience that all of the
older Lucas equipment can be taken apart and cleaned, relubricated, and
reassembled. I have not personally taken apart a headlight switch, but it
can't be that big of a deal. Since jumping the switch proves everything is
working it looks like that might be the problem.
