I hope the BMTC can really remedy the quality problems of reproduction
parts! Well, most are ok - but all it takes is one critical part that's s**t
with only one supplier, and your car is dead in the water.

> The British Motorcar Trade Association (BMTC) was formed on Sunday
March 9 after a 3-day conference at University Motors in Grand Rapids,
Michigan. About 45 people involved in the British car hobby attended. They
included shop owners, parts manufacturers, show promoters and members of the
media. Among the businesses represented were Moss Motors, Scarborough
Faire, Victoria British, LaFox, Little British Car Co., British Tool Co.,
British Car Magazine, Old Cars Weekly and North American Classic MG
Magazine. The group hopes to find ways to increase general interest in
British cars and address important issues including the quality of repro
parts. The possible creation of a feedback system to help insure good
service for British car owners was one item discussed. The next meeting of
the group will be at the Carlisle Import Car show in Carlisle, Pa., during
May. Information is available from BMTC co-organizer Carl Heideman at
Eclectic Motorworks. His email is carlheideman@ya!
