Hi everyone:
A close friend of mine has a 1970 XKE two seater coupe mostly dismantled with
the intent of restoration. He is the original owner, but he has now lost
interest in following the project through. The now must dispose of it to
reclaim the family's two car garage that has been dedicated to this project
for the last 20+ years.
The car has been inside a dry garage since 1980 when the car was about 50%
dismantled for repainting and restoration. There is not too severe rust in a
couple of places, he has a new rocker panel to fix most of that. The 4.2 L 6
cyl. engine was rebuilt by a renown Jaguar racing engine rebuilder, and it is
still sealed and crated. Every single part is there including the fasteners,
and full glass etc. He has many new/rebuilt parts including some very rare
SU racing carbs. The body still sits on the frame and wheels, and the
interior is removed - the black leather seats are in top shape.
He would prefer to sell the whole project as a complete (dismantled car), but
will later consider parting it out if there is a lack of interest in the
whole thing.
