MGA pinion Markings

I am fitting an MGA 4.3 CWP to my 54 TF. On the MGA pinion the etched
markings are the letter 'A' or 'D' depending which way you look at it , and
a circle with a dot in the centre.
I think that this means that the setting dimension is zero deviation from
standard.
Can any expert out there confirm this?.
