I am just back from an MG T type Treasure Hunt in North Wales and by chance
talked to a guy about Rocker bushes.He pulled a book from the back of his TD
entitled 'The complete MGTD restoration manual ' by Horst Schach.
Of the rocker bushes he says that they come with a hole drilled in the
centre of a bow tie-like groove cut into the inside surface. This hole is
NOT meant to be lined up with the small hole in the upper surface of the
rocker arm. Instead it is positioned to the valve side of the rocker arm
and a new hole is drilled through the upper opening after the bushing has
been pressed into place. The original hole acts as an oil reservoir while
the bow tie groove provides channel for the oil to move evenly through the
bushing. The newly drilled hole allows oil to escape and lubricate the
entire rocker assy.
Problem solved !!! or is there more ??.
