When I rebuilt my TD i 72, you couldn't get anything close to the factory stuff, and I was doing it on a shoestring. I used heavy woven webbing. My twin cam has some sort of cork material. If you use anything porous, I'd suggest you consider treating it with some sort of wax type rust proofer. The semi clear kind would show the least. The wax would keep the material from absorbing and holding water, and also help prevent sqeeks better than rubber. |
