I am trying to solve a few techinal issues in reassampling the body of a
1938 TA. I am attaching the original fenders to a new body tub.
How were the rear fenders attached to the wheel arch of the body tub?
The rusted fragments of the original wheel arch on the body tub have
five encapsulated nuts apparently to receve bolts pased up through the
fender. However the apparent mounting holes in the original fender do
not line up with these nuts and it appears the fender was attached
instead with screws up into the ash frame of the wheel arch. How was
this originally attached?
Also what is the width of the space between the runningboard and the
rear fender? My front wings are damaged at the point they join the
runningboard. So I have no way of determining the original length of
the wing or the rear gap at the running board-fender.
