Kevin, I use a pre-war grease gun that I modified for oil only on my J2 but was unable to find a full set of the straight sided nipples for the L1 so replaced them all with more modern ones, and modified another grease gun! The modification is a simple seal around the stem to keep the oil inside the body as the guns I had were designed to use grease in a cartridge and had a hole in the cap. The nipples have a BSF thread. Cheers, "Bob". P.S.
