Bob,
I would not even think of going anywhere else than Steve Gilbert. A true
craftsmen, who has produced hundreds of bodies. He made a complete new
body/wings/bonnet/front apron for my Swept Wing J2 and the fit is
perfect.
If one tries going to different sources and mixing/matching parts one
might well regret it. Also, please don't forget that some MMM Parts
suppliers may well buy in panels (and add on their mark-up) - maybe,
even from Steve Gilbert!
You will only fit one body once in your lifetime - fit the best
.....from Steve Gilbert.

Oh Ye of the Pencils(Ray McCready),
I'll not say I am thirding (or fourthing)it, but I had at least
two
sources back ten years ago. I will try to research my files for them.
There is one in Australia also. I loaned my patterns to a man in New
Zealand who had a body made. Maybe you could contact him as he
probably would have made copies for his use. I had one guy somewhere
near Nashville as I remember. Mike Allison also gave me a source. The
sheet metal parts that are missing can be purchased from Mike Dowling
of Sport and Vintage in England(well packaged for shipping by
"Professionals"). The side panels COULD be made by a hot rodder shop
who do louvers, rather than get them from England, although I was
highly pleased with MIkes panels and you have the new wings and bonnet
panels from him..............I thought his prices were competitive, and
the time to get them was quick.
