Members,
It seems difficult to find an organisation to produce a quality "bakelite"
like covering on steering wheels.
Back about 8 or 10 years ago I had this problem when restoring RA 0259. The
steering wheel went to Craig Seabrook in USA and came back looking
magnificent. After a very short time, cracks appeared in the surface. So
back went the steering wheel & it was done again. Free of charge.
Unfortunately the covering has cracked again. It is not that the car has
had a lot of use. It has only been driven twice.
Anyhow, a really nice guy has just made a steering wheel for my "project
single seater MMM racer" and I went looking for some one to put the covering
on it. Would you believe that, through a MMM member, I discover there is
some one in Sydney, Australia who does this work. I have seen one of the
products on an MG TA, and it looks very professional.
Just thought you people may like to know.
Cheers
Pip
