Thanks to everyone for all the kind and prompt replies including
info on the SVW group. The car my friend is considering is listed in
Hemmings, it is a Saloon. After hearing what the car sold for at
auction vs. the current asking price, my friend is going to continue
looking, preferrably for a tourer.
