Brian and other listers,
At this point I _would_ smile if I could buy a new crack tested drop
arm for 171 GBP. I just spoke with Mike and they no longer carry
these and are not likely to have any more made as they cannot get
insurance for steering components. We can thank our wonderful US
litigus society for this. Mike said that in 40 years he's never
had a failure with a steering component that they have sold. Apparently
this doesn't mean much to an insurance company. So I am back to
searching for a good used drop arm or source for a new drop arm for
a J2. Or possibly a machine shop that would machine one up as a
one-off. The only real difficult part I can see is the spline.
Does anyone know of a machine shop that can make a drop arm for a J2?
Thanks,
Bill Putnam

pocket)
