Message text written by "Andrew Fock" >all the local gear oils seem to be 85W140. Is this what everyone is using or is there a straight EP 140?< ============================================== Definately best to use a straight EP140 ( Still available from Castrol, Penrite etc) There are various problems associated with use of "multigrade" gear oils in older gearboxes and Axles = in particular the tendancy of some older types of brass/bronze bushes to just disintegrate!
