Subject: 12/12 M Type query
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how many miles the 12/12 Midgets completed in the 1930
Double Twelve? I am researching a 1930 Minor which was entered in the 1931
Belgian 24 Hour Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps - a hilly and difficult
track compared to Brooklands. This car completed 1,063 miles in the 24
hours to take the 1,100 c.c class. How did this fare compared to the
Midgets? The Minor was a completely standard four-seater tourer, with
10,000 miles on the clock before the race. Not a bad performance by any
measure.
If anyone else has any information on Minors in pre-war competition - races
or trials, I wouldbe plesed to hear from them.
Many thanks,
Ian Grace
