Are you using Windows?
You can run this command:
NET USE LPT1:
\\MachineName\SharedPrinterName /PERSISTENT:YES
to map a shared printer to
your LPT1 port. The shared printer can be on your local machine (use
127.0.0.1 IP address as the MachineName if it's a local printer).

uses LPT1. Yes, it is that old. And maybe somewhere I have an old printer
cable. But... isn't there some way that th eLPT1 port can be assigned to a USB
port via the OS software?
