Actually I prefer to begin a pass with an open thermostat regardless of how much preheating I have done. Also oil temp of at least 150 degrees, preferably 180. If you run steel rods like most of us, you don't want to make a pass with cold oil. I think the water tank should be sized to accommodate those requirements. Remember Doc, the water boils at a lower temp on the salt. I know, you knew that :-d Rick |
