Hi Listers and, my favorites, the Lurkers
It took me awhile but I realized Daves "personal" attacks on me weren't
"personal" at all. I am just one of many!!! I learned that from 37, no 38
testimonials from the lurkers "off list", that the exact same thing happened to
them. He treats anybody that tries to give advice like their opinion is
worthless. He insults them into lurkhood , tells everybody how smart he is,
again, and
never does answer the original question. If he does, it's with complicated
lengthy engineering technology that looses the average guy.
I was going to resign myself into lurkhood because if I continue listing,
I'm only setting myself up for the next attack from Mr. Wonderful". That's only
a matter of time.
Then, the lurkers came to the rescue!!! I realized if I quit posting, I'm
depriving all the lurkers of their favorite answer guy. Someone who speaks in
English, not Swaheelie Engineering.
This is my stand. I will continue to answer questions to the best of my
experienced knowledge. I ain't got no book engineering degree or notin like dat
but I've been wrenching since I was 14, on every piece of a hot rod.
When the next public "Dave attack" comes I will respond like I did to Dave
this time. I said to Dave "Yes you are smart but what do you recommend to Phil
for a 260 cube engine and I quoted my recommendations dimensions of 4.030
bore, 2.50" stroke and a 5.4" rod. He never did quote dimensions and that's
what
Phil asked. Still hasn't. Dave, if your so smart, answer the question, don't
tap dance around it with blah, blah, I'm so smart, blah, blah.
So Dave, what dimensions do you recommend for Phils 260 cube engine? He
wants to either build a stock dimension 260 engine or destroke a 302 to get to
260 cubes, not pop for 25K for a used IRL engine.
EVERYBODY, even the Dave huggers, admit Daves "bedside manor" sucks. I'll
accept Dave for that and not let it bother me again. I didn't sleep the night
he told me I don't know what I'm talking about. Put yourself in my place.
So Dave, were waiting for your dimensions. Keep them economical. Mine are
off the shelf except for the crank and that's an offset ground 289-302 crank.
If they result is an over square de stroked 302 with a longer than stock
rod, you own me an apology, something you have never done!
