Sparky,
to the driver of the JCB Diesel streamliner, Andrew "Andy" Green, I have to
say, that this guy is one of the finest person I ever met - he done a
brilliant job with the Thrust SSC, if he was not, the Thrust would never set a
record. Unfortunately, Andy never got the credit he deserved for this what he
done at Black Rock (the credit got Richard Noble).
This Diesel streamliner - alright - if they use this project for promotion -
but they try a real attempt - this is not for publicity - they try serious.
Other project, like the Saturn racers, this cars was build by Hot Rod
specialist, not too much from there development department - there is at last
only the brand sticker on. But the Hot Rodder got the budget from the company
- so they have not to fight with the bank account - gave us the money and we
build the ultimate record breaker - so it happens in the 30's and 60's - Cobb,
Eyston, Campbell...
See ya

Built---they are Looking for Marketing angles--and they seldom are wiling to
push something hard enough to risk BREAKING SOMETHING in front of witnesses if
they can help it---not good publicity---also they have trouble getting racers
who do not run their MOUTHs---about things that they shouldn't if they are
taking sponsor dollars....I agree we are not at risk very much from being
taken over---maybe in one or two classes---
