Exactly, Jon. The laws of physics will determine what "options" you might
have once you kiss the pavement. Dismounting from a low side is certainly not
anything like dismounting from a high-side, or over the bars. "Back sliders"
usually come off the low sie, and "rollers" come off the high side or over the
bars. And, that's all assuming that you're on perfectly smooth surface that
won't interupt your travel.
I've been to several of the road racing schools myself, and I was even a
Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor for years, but no matter what anybody
says about "what you should do when you get off the bike at speed", the laws of
physics will dictate what you do. The only thing that you have any real
control over is the amount and quality of safety equipment that you are wearing
at the time.... and that should always be the very best that you can possibly
afford.
But then, I don't need to be telling you about that, I'm just endorsing what
you already know and have already said.
