I'm usually able to run whatever aluminum's getting welded over to the anodize shop where I caustic etch the stuff to clean it (hugely important). Of late I've been using a muriatic bath, hardware store stuff maybe 50/50 water, here at home with good results. I leave it in a few minutes, then hose it off. This won't remove grease or anything, just the "skin" that makes for poor results especially on thinner stuff. |
