Let me share another problem with obtaining "salvage" cars from down south.
The LSR vette I'm building came from a Florida scrap yard. It had been mostly
stripped and was the "perfect" donor car for the project. Well... whey it
arrived I was quite excited to say the least and set to work removing the last
of the trashed carpet, inner panels, etc... that's when I found "what wasn't
stripped". As I was removing one of the trunk inner panels, a roach the size
of a MAC truck ran up my arm. This thing was the largest roach I had ever seen
-- remember I'm a northerner, as it had license plates on both ends. In my
panic I banged my head on the rear deck which jarred the bug lose and it landed
in a trough around the hatch seal. After shaking off the multiple images of
killer cockroaches, I quickly grabbed a can of RAID and drained the remainder
on Mr. Roach -- were I come from, anything that big is a Mr. I sprayed so much
RAID, as to fill-up the trough and float the roach.
At this point the roach began to do laps in the raid -- I'm not kidding! I
swear that if it could talk it would have asked for a chaser... I concluded
this adventure with a universal roach elimination tool -- my trusty ball peen
hammer. So beware of hitch hikers!
