My 1984 Monte Carlo equipped with a 305 V8 had a THM 200R4  bolted up to it.  
 This was a mid size car.   Had a 1982  Malibu Station Wagon with the 229 V6 
it had a THM 250 bolted to it.
 
   From what I remember the THM 200 was total  junk!   Hope you do not have 
one of these!!  LOL
