Reply from "Battle Bob" (?), To Keith
Thank you ?, for your convoluted comments of our efforts this weekend.
Anybody on this list for awhile is aware of the #343 car and how different it
is
from what LSR aficionados are used to. Whether you-all are aware of it or not,
due to this list, this car is a Landracing.com group effort. I've spoken to
dozens of people on this list regarding performance, safety, or sometimes
slightly political issues during both the planning and construction of this
project. The car performed well below it's intended and eventual potential and
should be at least entertaining in the future.
The applause incident took place when one of my guys took a test lap of the
pits after the engine replacement. I was following behind in the tow car and
got all goose-pimply at the overwhelming response to our one-day turn-around.
It was pointed out, by some un-named pit vultures, that it was only half as
hard as a real engine as it's only a four-banger.
We're pulling out the drivetrain later this week to see what else I farkled,
finding ways to hold on the involuntarily jettisoned plastic trimmage, and
improve steering/traction issues .
Lots of ifs, means when and where we show up in the future is dependant on a
decision the car is competent. Ask Keith about my competence, I'm sure
there's a new comment....
Words like respect, impressed, brilliant, outstanding, are basically what we
all strive for, a pat on the back from our peers.
Words like poo-poo, prism?,fish-heads and rice, sewing machine, are just the
symptoms of a smoked diet-coke head from a guy still carries around
confederate money...
Thanks Keith..........Bob W
