After my track weekend a month ago, I have a list of twenty-one things I have
to do before I try the 'bird again. I've been tinkering on the car for the
past week, and have about four and three halves done. I have replaced the
alternator and alternator pulley. I've relocated the alternator so it can be
driven off of the second crankshaft pulley which is smaller that the third
pulley, which was throwing belts off at 7,000 rpm. I've removed the fan,
re-positioned the radiator. I've added a coolant catch can.
I've got a new aluminum fuel cell about half done, and will start mounting it
later today. I've got the new fuel pump, regulator, and eighteen feet of half
inch fuel line ready to install. The new carburetor is in a box on my desk,
waiting to be mounted. I've got a cold air intake duct about half done.
I'll have to add the chute, and have the car lowered after Christmas, and
then the 'bird will be ready to "test" further in March.
