A other solution is a spoiler which is mounted with a bracket on the top of
the rear end of the car. Like the attached spoiler the flip, side pads and
length creates a effect.
But by this solution it's also important where the spoiler is mounted.
If there is a wide bracket solution, the force of the spoiler goes to the
outside of the car, if you got a narrowed bracket you get the force to the
rear center of the car.
By a higher mounted solution the turbulences of a roll bar effect the spoiler
less.
Depends what kind of suspension and weight ratio (and the effect of the center
of graffity) the effect will be different - understeering or oversteering will
be the reaction.
This sound funny due to this that we like to go straight - but the reaction
will be a more or less loss rear end...
At last - if you build a spoiler on the rear end - you have also to think
about a front end device as a counterpart of the more rear end downforce.
Keith's car is very long and get a lot of downforce from his front shape. Your
racer is much short, therefore more sensitive to turn around his center point
of the weight ratio and also more sensitive to more downforce on the back - in
other words, the car likes more to flip...
If you get me a some picture of the car, may be with some "mock up" shown, how
you like to design the spoiler, I can give you some ideas.
