Well, we got Gary's water plumbing nearly finished. Just needs to be
painted and installed. Then GAry just has to find the odd little hoses
to make it all work. He will be running soon!
I managed to check out my oiling systems today... oiled the shop floor
pretty well in the process. Good that it wan nice new oil. Gary cleaned
it up for me and did a great job. I had left oneof the oil supply hoses
to the driver's turbo really loose, almost off. When I hooked up the 1/2
in electric dril to the oil pump, I oild it all. Really really well. Oil
pressure is 70 psig on the drill, even bypassing a lot of oil to the
turbos. So I am happy, life is good. Next os putting fluid into the
tranny through a surrogate oil filler tube. My real locking one wont be
here until after Em, so this one has to do duty for a bit. Once
convinced that I have the tranny up to level then I can finish the water
injection wiring (2 wires, one switch), put the plug wires on, rough
time the diustributor. Then the only major systems not checked is the
fuel system and the brain box. After seeing the effects of oil pumping
onto the floor, I think I will hit all the fuel hose ends one more time
with the wrench... I want to bleed the brakes and I will do that with a
vacuum system. The put the wheel back on and offer a chicken for
sacrifice and hit the starter. As I run through the tranny with the car
on the jack stands, I need to count 733.38 revolutions of the rear tires
to calibrate my speedometer. How am I gonna do that? Anybody got a quick
and dirty method of counting rotaions? In any case not a bad day for the
pahrump wannabe...
