We've got some air cooled v-12s with twin turbos the size of washing machines
on oil pumps out here in Texas. Truthfully, the snale housings on the turbos
look like they are about two feet in diameter! I have no idea, what the
displacement is, I'm guessing 2000- 3000 cid. I've seen pistons in the
boneyard and they have about an eight inch bore. The first time I saw a
flatbed with two of these monsters mounted, I though that they were for a
municipal power plant, or a big ship. Then I saw them more and more often and
realized they are from portable oil rigs. Every time one of these monsters goes
by (actually two mounted per rig) on an 18-wheeler rig truck I am amazed at
these giants.
