The very best way to stop spam is on the mail server where your account is
hosted. The personal accounts I maintain have Spam Assasin an dour company
ones use Postini. These are programs that run on the mail server and monitor
all kinds of characteristics of incoming mail to all accounts and even
compare results between servers. Each user has some control as to how tight
the filtering is and sometimes 'good' messages get swept up with the bad.
The user also has the capability to White List and Black List mail from a
particular user or domain.

Inquire with your provider as to the availability of these tools. While the
first.last@domain.net might work for now, it is just a matter of time before
you get spammed there also.

My answer to the first question is yes. (for now anyway) From my experience
it
won't get any.

snet.net is a "Domain Name" assigned by the folks that control Internet
domain
names.
There used to be a list of domain names on the Internet.

So the program takes the generated ID and appends "@domain.name" from the
list.
