I have been scouring the rule book and can't find a definitive answer.
What constitutes an engine swap is quite clear. Pg 37 essentially
indicates, if the engine was not OEM installed, then it is a swap.
However, what can be done to the engine is not so clear. Can you convert
a SBC to a DOHC and run as a Gas Coupe? Basically, are you totally
unrestricted in what you can do to the heads & valves?
Also, can a Production (or Classic Production) engine run with homemade
heads as long as the number of valves and port configuration "resemble"
stock? -Elon
