Can anyone observing the International runs describe the starting technique
of the Buckeye Bullet - did they push off with a truck using the same
gearing that they had for the SCTA long course?
What were the speeds of the other three International Record contenders?
None of these International record runs appear on the SCTA-BNI site - or
have I missed them and where are they recorded?
Apart from the obvious safety matters and possible caution exercised
........ the two way runners have to have a central mile (and kilo) and do
'use up' more space on the flats heading for I 80 ........... but the speed
differential between the BB's two records is over 45 miles per hour! Is
that the speed pickup in the difference of one final mile? If so they sure
have some remaining power in those cells.
And their exit trap speed says that there is a little more still available
on a longer course - over 321 out.
A smog free 300 mph chapter entry seems to be the way to keep the
environmental lobby on side - on either side of the pond.
Thanks to Jon ............. whilst I may have missed the meeting
.............. I could still kept in touch with the daily news - excellent
work.
