Jon;
I guess we will all owe FedEx a debt of gratitude for their
"sponsorship".
Joline & I hope to see everyone there again this year.

Subject: Salt Talks is a-comin'!
Make your plans to attend the 5th annual Salt Talks Gathering at the
Bend in the Road on Sunday evening, August 15th. T-shirts have been
ordered, and Nancy and I will be helping to host the get-together this
year. Last night we stopped at the local FedEx office to make
arrangements to get this year's pasties (a "way up north" food that we
took to last year's event, and NOT something that female dancers wear!)
shipped out to the Salt. I want to keep the things frozen 'til we're
ready to heat and serve, so I thought that air-shipping would be the
right way to go. ERROR!
The shipping from Marquette would have been about $150, which is way
more than what I wanted to pay. I whined, I backed off -- and the lady
at the desk there asked just why we were sending pasties to Wendover.
I told her the story -- and -- and -- and then she said that if we
promised to say something nice about how FedEx helped us out she'll
ship them for FREE!
So get ready for not just hot dogs and burgers and chips and
refreshments (Bill Smith is handling the liquid end of the deal), but
also for real Cornish pasties that I'm having made by a nice lady up
here. We'll have at least 40 of 'em for your dining pleasure.
See you on the Salt a month from now!
