My favorite structural adhesive is a gray, semi-flexible epoxy made by
3M; type 2216 B/A.
This epoxy is tough and strong. The key to making it (and any other
adhesive) work well is to prepare the surface properly-- it should be
CLEAN.

I don't know what adhesive Howard was using, but I have Lord adhesive
which
is aerospace quality, and it works extremely well. Part number 304-1
and
304-2.
I agree with you Brian, a combination of rivets and adhesive may be the
real
answer. I got the adhesive too late for NACA ducts, but not for access
panels....
Oh isn't this FUN?

Now time out for lunch with my daughter. Poor PHD student can't afford
