On his last Streamliner, Howard used some kind of glue in addition to rivets to hold flanges on body panels. He didn't use a lot of rivets -- they were about four inches apart. The glue, adhesive, 'stuff' was what is used to glue Aluminum honeycomb together. That 'stuff' held up with no sign of failure for three rough salt years. Howard is an extreme perfectionist so I don't know if it would be considered a practical thing to do by most people. Just a thought, not a suggestion, Bryan |
