Why such a big car? You are a smart guy, it is Cd times area that governs
the speed. Most good engines of any displacement put out the same amount of
power and plenty have used good engines. if you build a 5 liter pushrod
engine I doubt if it will make over 640 hp the same as all the other 5
liters that are well done. But if you race a 21 sq ft car against a 17 sq ft
car you will not be as fast. You know the deal the real speed secret is
there are no secrets just good engineering. Before you get too deeply
committed why not look at some smaller cars even if is only a Monza at least
it is smaller. At least look at narrower as you can always chop the top to
make it lower but I don't know of any classes that let you narrow the body.
