The original NOVIs were front wheel drive, chewed up the tires---If I
remember correctly from Granetelli's book, he bought them and tried to
revive them at Indy, think he did put one NOVI engine in a four-wheel drive
car in the early 1960s.
Indy was more interesting when they had a variety of engines--stock blocks,
diesels, NOVIs, last interesting engine was Penski's 1994 push-rod V8.
