Dave,
I needed a way to get a lathe off a pick-up and onto a rectanguler-tubing
set of rails down my cellar stairs. I made a gantry of 2" square tube,
inverted T's for the supports, 6 interchangable 45* tube gussets, bolts
together fast, with casters. Top tube is 8' but drilled for short spans, too.
Bought an imported come-along for $75. Works beautifully and stores fast in
little space. It's super stabile, too. I can't imagine how I managed without
it in hindsight...BJ in the Bean
