ED and Jon have identified the two causes of the "slap"
it is almost std on all of these engs. Iron block or alloy
its in them all wmts
I am beginning to see enough of the engines in some really high milage, hard
use applications to feel very comfortable about the long term reputation of
these especially the 6.0---they are beginning to make real friends of some
ranchers I know and have met---don't get very good fuel milage because of the
4L80E---10 --15 depending on cab and use wmts
Rancher friend has "HYPERed " his speed liminting device nothing else will run
130---gets about 5-6---be sure and get some non WalMart Michilens before you
try this--even they wont stay together above 115 on extended runs
He trades every two years at 230,000 to 245,000 miles he has tried them all he
says his cost of ownership is dramatically less than any other truck he has
tried...Puts his ranch hands in Dodge single rear 1 tons---because the ride so
ruff they will drive slower--
