Keith, in the absence of a transducer, try placing a
nylon tie wrap on the damper shaft. When the damper
compresses, the tie will move to a new location on the
shaft. Measure the difference and you will know how
much compression the springs went through. If your
suspension's motion ratio (MR) is more or less than
1:1, multiply the damper compression difference by
that MR. This will give you vertical change from ride
height.
