Yes, I think there was a discussion about air-cooled vs liquid-cooled
engines on this list some time ago. Basically, an air-cooled engine has more
severe limitations on power output than a liquid-cooled engine. Cylinder
head temperature (with resulting valve & seat temperatures) are the biggest
limitation. Porsche ran into this limitation and went to liquid-cooled
cylinder heads.

I can already hear someone tuning up on the "Cyclone vs Merlin" theme....
