List and Tom -
Tom Shannon pointed out the excellent website www.flatheaddrag.com and I
wanted to point out a little about the owner of said website.
Jim Marlett is a former AHRA record holder who used to run a '53 Ford
powered by a flat henry. He is a great lover of drag racing and street rodding
history - especially flathead motored stuff. His day job is the Asst. Director
of the prestigious Sedgwick County Zoo here in Wichita, Kansas. Jim really
loves his job, but his passion in cars, so when the two are able to mix, then
Jim is in heaven! On Father's Day a local car magazine organizes a car show
within the hosts' grounds. Jim can be spotted clicking off picture after
picture of street rods and muscle cars among the gorillas, rhinos, and bears.
Just look for the bearded fellow with the big grin!
Jim is also the correspondent for the local dragstrip to an area drag
newspaper, and a frequent poster of items on flathead usergroups sites, and
vintage rodding newsgroups and websites. I have been trying to convince him to
try the salt out sometime soon. If you happen to visit his website, drop him
an email!
Just wanted to blow this guy's horn a bit - he's too humble to do it
himself. See you all later on the digest!

P.S. Kudos to all who set records on the salt this last event. Wish I had
been able to attend. Thanks also to Mr. Amo for his coverage and website.
