Drivers meeting about 11:00 this morning. Cloudy and pleasant. There had
been wind and a couple of rain sprinkles last night. By the time racing
started at about one, the sun was out and it was hot. Keith made a late run
this afternoon but turned out after a mile and a half. Ed VanScoy ran about
eight miles under his targeted speed after of some soft salt conditions
across both lanes at the one caused him to lift and he couldn't recover the
needed speed. Several cars before him had lost it at that spot. Jon
Wennenberg made a run but someone was sitting on the mike of their CB and we
missed hearing the time. The Amo boys were working on their bikes when we
chatted around noon. Terry Hunt was in line to run, so were Katie Young
Cortez and Jacquie Meeks. There's a couple of soft spots on the course and
it gets wet around the 6 1/2. Glen was running a rather uneventful meet,
getting cars off with good speed and both courses seemed to be running
smoothly. They shut the course down about 7:20 when higher winds stopped
the action. Record runs begin at 7:00 in the morning and those in line
tonight will be able to run immediately after that. Dan had some cars in
Warnerville after a rather quiet day for him
See you on the salt.
