I am still confused. Last year I was not allowed to run in MPS because my
OEM seat and tail section extended (barely) further to the rear than a
vertical line at the rear edge of the rear tire. The very next statement in
7.F.12 states that an exception will be given to a motorcycle that is
otherwise legal as a production frame with modifications allowed only to the
engine (carburetors, pipes, etc). The only other mod I had was muffler and
mid pipe which would appear that it was legal. Maybe if I pull the muffler
(which is optional) I will be OK this year. There is something wrong with
the concept that a production frame streamlined slightly beyond the rear
tire does not fit the limits of MPS. Maybe after I've been around for awhile
this stuff will make more sense.
