Part Two
A few months ago I was put in touch with Sam, and he kindly agreed to a
comprehensive interview about everything that goes into a bike like
this. We chatted for seven hours on the LD phone, a draft of 12 printed
pages was prepared, and now Sam has completed his personal edit and
approved the article. He supplied many excellent photographs from his
collection, everything went in to the Bonneville Racing News office, and
Part One of the Sam Wheeler Interview is scheduled for the issue that
goes to the printer July 11, and will be out shortly.
The mc streamliner is considered one of the most difficult arts in land
speed racing. A lot of people try to build them, and most can't keep
them up on two wheels long enough to get to top speed. Very little has
EVER been published about this mystery, but now one of the few world
masters is revealing all the secrets, and you can read about it! The
monthly magazines don't have the space to delve deeply into these
subjects, even if they know much about them, but BRN DOES devote the
space to full technical information about many of these great Bonneville
racing cars and bikes.
You can subscribe to BRN by e-mail with a credit card at salt@ivic.net.
A year's subscription(10 issues) is $24 in USA(plus $12 if you want
first class mail), Canadians add $12, and Foreign add $28. BRN can also
be reached by phone at 909-926-2277 and fax at 909-926-4619, or P.O.Box
730, Hemet, CA 92546 USA.
Tell the BRN office you want the SAM WHEELER STORY! Regards, Bill
