Rick,
Make a tracing of the divots in the piston top and lay it on the head
upside down. It looks to me like the pock marks are right on top of each
other. Could you have had something small and round go through the engine?
As I remember detonation looks like the surface being eaten away not pushed
up around a central crater. Then again I have never looked inside one of
those mega rpm bike motors either.
