SOAPBOX #2
OK Guys this is a subject that is very close to me. As many of you know, I
am a survivor of Prostate Cancer, (not without lots of side effects from
surgery). Nonetheless a survivor I am. Primarily because of understanding
the "slope of the curve" of PSA. Now, as you know, to understand the slope
we need to have more than one data point.........
PLEASE have your PSA checked yearly if you are over 50 years old. I had
treatable Prostate cancer at 53 years old and it appears to be gone. The
progression of cancer in my friend Don was beyond the types of treatment
open to those of us who are diagnosed early.
Please Please Please have a simple blood test done regularly, so that the
rise of PSA may be charted.
There are arguments as to the efficacy of PSA blood tests, but when the
slope of the curve indicates that you should be subject to a biopsy, the
tissue sample says it all.
As our friend Dave says.
DATA is DATA.
Don't be in denial, thats just a dirty river in Egypt. Take care of
yourselves, I cannot afford to lose any more friends.
If any of you want to discuss this issue with me privately or pubicaly, feel
free to contact me here or 313 5626253.
I feel VERY strongly about this subject and will discuss as required.
My circumstances are an open book and since many people have already read
about it, I will discuss openly.
Call, Talk or not, but DO SOMETHING......do the only test that can be
predictive.
Thanks for listening friends
