Mathew and List
I am the Brit that this gang beat up on - 'cos I tell 'em how we do it over
here and under the FIA! (The US racers just love me for that).
There is a lot of knowledge over here in the UK - some on this list - most
are in the Speed Record Club but not all of them are go to
www.speedrecordclub.com This enthusiasts club can help with all manner of
record attempt details here in the UK and at overseas venues (Black Rock,
Lake Gairdner, Tunisia and Bonneville). This list will be the best source
for SCTA / USFRA / ECTA details along with the websites they run
Given time and a long look back at the archive you will understand some of
the important happenings surrounding LSR - eating in Laurenberg with ECTA
racers and Keith's color of firesuit amongst them. Don't forget to look in
at the landspeed website run by Jonathan Amo www.landracing.com and the
LSR section of the www.roadsters.com website.
If you have yet to get Landspeed Louise's book on Bonneville do try to get
one either from the author on this list or at a specialist motor book store
here in the UK.
A Kharmann Ghia in Comp Coupe (or even Mod Sport) should be at home on the
salt - you may have seen the variety that race at Bonneville, El Mirage and
Maxton already. Ask John Beckett and he will guide you on wheelbase
lengths etc...
