List
Should you wish to read the list of FIA records that include the names I
listed the other day the route is as follows.
www.fia.com
select the 'english version' unless you wish to practice your francaise
skills!
at the homepage scroll down to near the bottom
see Bold Heading Motor Sport
click on [Technical and Sporting Regulations] within the options
scroll to the end of the list that appears and you will find 'Records',
click on this
The Appendix B & D are the rules to make an attempt (not build the car!)
The list of record speeds are in Categorys A, B and C. Click on the one
you want. They are pdf files so you need Adobe Acrobat reader. As the
pages are small a print off makes reading easier. A 7 B are many pages (at
least 20).
Cat A is special automobiles (and not all are streamliners) - supercharged
and unsupercharged spark ignition, turbines, diesels, electric, etc....
Cat B are true production cars - taken off the assembly line and Cat C are
the thrust powered special vehicles.
Enjoy browsing - many record speeds have been exceeded by SCTA classes and
vehicles - but then remember that under FIA you have just 1 hour turnaround
and very limited work allowed on the vehicle in the rules.
