Front Air Dams?

Ok in Alt class front airdams can not extend beyond the front edge of the
bumper. Can I add a flat horizontal piece extending outward to the bottom
edge, maybe just on the sides ?  Want to kill some front end lift without
extra downforce. Would this do it?
